Mobile devices like smartphones and tablets offered a new credit card payment solution for cardholders across the country. But RBC, with help from a Toronto based technological company, is introducing a new way to pay – one on the wrist.

WestJet is taking an aggressive stand against cold call telemarketing calls that the company says are fraudulent. These phony calls persistently harass Canadians from coast to coast including WestJet Vice President Richard Bartrem, who says he is contacted by scammers at his own home.

On September 22, New Brunswick residents went to the polls and elected a Liberal majority government to replace the outgoing Progressive Conservative majority mandate. Liberal leader Brian Gallant was sworn in as the new Premier, and began to implement policies his party fought for on the campaign.

The Alberta floods that devastated the southern half of the province last summer became the most expensive natural disaster in Canadian history. Insurance firms paid out insurance claims worth billions of dollars, and warned policyholders to expect higher premiums in 2014 and beyond.
